Deftones: Diamond Eyes
Frontman Chico Moreno and the boys of the American Band Deftones released their sixth studio album in May, and it wasn’t a mistake. The band again produced a quality rock album that won’t disappoint even the diehard heavy metal fans. The new album titled Diamond Eyes was written in 2007 following their previous release of the 2006 Album Saturday Night Wrist. Originally the band produced the album, Eros, but it didn’t represent the band artistically and after Chi Cheng, The Deftones bassist, went to the hospital from a serious car accident in November 2008 the whole band was put on hold. With Chi Cheng in the hospital Deftones put the album Eros to the side until Chi Cheng was healthier to finish the album. Deftones, in limbo, decided to start working on Diamond Eyes and soon they found bassist Sergio Vega from the band Quicksand to fill in for Chi Cheng. For a sixth album from the band, they haven’t lost a beat, staying true to their hard rock beginnings.
