Pearl Jam Working On New Album
|
Pearl Jam have reportedly started working on their ninth studio album. The band is creating early demos for the disc, which marks the first time they’ve worked with producer Brendan O’Brien since 1998’s Yield.
Guitarist Mike McCready updated Rolling Stone revealing, “It’s really in its infant stages right now. We have about five ideas that have been worked out.” McCready added that he’s not sure how the new album will sound, noting, “Brendan is another set of ears that we respect, and he’s going to give us a different way to go but I don’t know what that is yet.”
Eddie Vedder and company already had one session with O’Brien and plan to resume working on it in July after they finish up their June tour.
Meanwhile, McCready is holding a benefit concert on May 3rd in Seattle to raise money for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. The guitarist has suffered from Crohn’s disease, a digestive ailment, since he was 21. |
