Just when you thought a very public and very surprise announcement that your band was done after this tour would be the final nail in the coffin, here comes Scott Weiland nail gun and a sledge hammer. Last week I told you how Scott hit the stage and told the audience that this would be the last Velvet Revolver tour, drawing confused looks from the rest of his band, after which he train-wrecked on stage and stormed off. Matt Sorum blogged about the incident, saying, “Sometimes you just don’t get along. There has been more turmoil lately… I am not going to lie.”
And I give the guy credit because that was an extremely level-headed and measured response to your junkie lead singer making the whole band look pretty stupid in front of a crowd of a few thousand, not to mention international press and, most importantly, me.
Well, let it never be said that Scott Weiland doesn’t know how to combat a measured observation about the state of his band. Where Matt Sorum chooses level-headedness, Scoot goes right for the balls, literally.
Weiland released a statement to BlabberMouth.net, saying, “He is too immature to have a real relationship let alone children.”
Folks love a good remix. Take a song that you already kind of like, set some new drums in, loop a couple of the cooler parts of the song to highlight just how kick-ass they are, drop in an outside sample or two and all of a sudden you have an all new song that sounds kinda like the original, maybe just a couple a minutes longer.
And that’s cool and all… for a while. After four hours, I may be looking for a change-up in the mix. That has not stopped U-K producer James Rutledge, a-k-a Pedro who has created a 240-minute remix of the track “Videotape” off Radiohead’s latest album In Rainbows. Not only is the remix four hours long, but it is being released on VHS. According to his MySpace page, Pedro wants to “auction it on eBay at some point in the near future with the money going straight to charity. I hope that doesn’t sound corny.”
Rock Band is releasing a 6-song Boston song pack tomorrow.
