Australia, we know how much you guys like to get drunk, stick Foster’s cans on your fists and punch out crocodiles. You guys have been trying forever to get synchronized head-butting added to the summer Olympic event list. And yes, we know you guys all lace up a pair of Roos before you go jogging across the outback, and I’m not talking about the 80’s novelty shoes with the pocket on the side. I’m talking about a real pair of Kangaroos. Just stick a foot in each pouch and away you go. So yes, Australia, the world knows you’re a bunch of ultra violent, criminally insane, adrenaline junkies, but you need to figure out how to party. Throat punching competitions are cool for the back yard BBQ, but when Rage Against the Machine flies all the way down there, just groove and throw up the devil horns. That, of course, didn’t happen when Rage took to the stage at the Big Day Out in Melbourne. Instead there was a crush of people all trying to get as close to the stage as possible. Some people even started climbing trees and buildings just to see.

One unconscious man had to be crowd-surfed to an ambulance, while another fell from a marquee as crowds pushed forward to see. Organizers interrupted Rage’s set to tell the 45,000 people trying to climb on stage to calm the F down.

We are one step closer to that Zeppelin/Foo Fighters collaboration where Dave Grohl plays drums for the touring Zep. Dave has offered it up as many times as he could in the last few months, through official channels and to every journalist with a minidisk recorder he could find. He’s even publicly stated that he would put the Foo tour on hold just to clear his schedule. And it may have payed off because now Dave is getting a little of face-to-face groveling time with at least one member of Zep. John Paul Jones is arranging a special orchestral version of the “The Pretender” for the Grammys, which he’ll conduct while the Foos play their parts on stage.

The 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards air on February 10th at 8 PM on CBS.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are expecting their second child, which if you ask me is pretty unfair. Gavin Rossdale got his turn already. There’s plenty of us out here who haven’t even got to go on that ride once and already he’s line-jumping to the front and going again? He’s like that jerky kid at your birthday party who grabs your brand new GI Joe hovercraft the second you pull it out of the box and starts playing with it. Your mom tells you to be patient, you’ll have all the time in the world to play with it. And by the end of the party he’s got one of the turret guns wedged under the fridge, the missile boxes have both been flushed down the toilet and the fan blades are completely seized. That’s Gavin Rossdale. If he keeps hogging Gwen for himself, one of her breasts is going to end up missing and her vagina’s going to be stuffed full of Play Dough.
