You know how Marvel Comics has that whole series of “What If” books, like “What if Spidey’s Uncle never died” or “What if Joe Quesada didn’t turn everything that he touches into cauldrons of boiling feces.” Well imagine this as a “What if…” What if Wolverine- schnikity schnikt- fought Dave Grohl. That’s right, 4 foot 11, berserker rage filled Canadian versus the beard-y, tooth-y, scream-y god of rock. Who wins? Oh, forgot, Wolverine doesn’t get to used his claws… or his hands… or his teeth, feet or any other part of his body. The only weapon that Weapon X has is Marvel’s lawyer.
Well, it’s a fight that we will soon see play out in the courts. That’s because the Foo Fighters are suing Marvel Comics for copyright infringement. The band alleges that Marvel used “substantial excerpts” of their songs “Best of You” and “Free Me” as the music for the trailer of the new animated series Wolverine and The X-Men. The Foos’ are seeking unspecified damages.
And speaking of cartoons, Scooby Doo and the his meddling friends in the Mystery Machine are real and right now they’re dealing with the mystery of the Jimi’s Vanishing Guitar.
During a gig in England in 1967, someone stole Jimi Hendrix’ guitar and now, a group of crime-solving kids are hoping to figure out who was behind the caper. The youth service project, My Generation, is looking into what might have happened to the instrument. The group is hoping to make a documentary about the search.
This report was shamelessly stolen from MTV News:
When Ozzy Osbourne hosted the Brit Awards this week, he was somewhat subdued. While many thought this had to do with nervous executives who feared what the rocker might do on stage, it actually had to do with a pre-show tumble. Ozzy hardly said a word during the two-hour event, leaving Sharon and his daughter Kelly in the limelight. An insider explained it to the Daily Star, saying, “Ozzy gave himself a real fright. It was touch and go whether things would go ahead as planned. That’s why he barely took part in the show.” The source added, “He was meant to be the highlight of the night, promising lots of swearing and bad behavior. Instead, if you blinked, you missed him. It was like he wasn’t there.”
