Well the Lollapalooza lineup was announced today, and as reported here on the Cort and Fatboy show WEEKS ago, Radiohead, Rage AND NIN are the headliners over the 3 day festival, no doubt each headlining a different day. Seriously people, you want to some something about something, the Cort and Fatboy show is the place to come to. The reports about CBS turning over their news division to CNN are inaccurate. There was a typo on that press release. CBS is turning over their news division to CNF- Cort ‘n Fatboy.

Lollapalooza will be held August 1-3 at Grant Park in Chicago. Rounding out the rest of the bill are The Raconteurs, Love and Rockets, Gnarls Barkley, Bloc Party, The Black Keys, Broken Social Scene, Flogging Molly, The National, Explosions in the Sky, Steven Malkmus and the Jicks, Blues Traveller, MGNT, the Gutter Twins and more.

Guitar Hero fans, your minds are slowly but surely being subverted by the Dark Prince of Plastic Guitars himself: Satan. That’s right, every time you play that game you are willfully inviting the dark lord Lucifer into your bed and announcing that you are his prison bitch with all the rights and privileges that entails. Every time you finger your Playskool guitar it’s like a kidney shot to the Holy Ghost, every power up a roundhouse kick to the baby Jesus’ trachea. That’s because, not only did Harmonix include a devil boss character to play in the game, but they also DIDN’T make him beatable simply by being able to correctly input a character name. At least that’s what Charlie Daniels thinks, who just recently became aware that his some was used in the game.

Charlie Daniels recently blogged, which I imagine comes about by Charlie branding the individual letters he wants written on goats and running them past a guy with a typewriter who types it all out for him then sends it via carrier pigeon to someone in Odessa, Texas with a Netscape account… So yes, Charlie Daniels blogged that he had lost the publishing rights a while ago and had nothing to do with his song appearing on the game. When he finally got around to playing, he was aghast that the devil may actually win. He wrote,

The song, "The Devil Went Down To Georgia," which I wrote, is supposed to be a lighthearted novelty about a fiddling contest between a country boy and the devil and the devil always loses. That is not the case with the Guitar Hero version which comes complete with a horned, guitar-playing devil who battles the player and very often wins.

I would never grant permission for some company to create a video game version of a song I wrote in which the devil wins a contest and I'm sorely disappointed with the company who owns the copyright for not policing the situation. As it is they have allowed these people to violate the very essence of the song.
