You know how when Scott Weiland was booted from Velvet Revolver Slash was all, “We didn’t need that dude anyhow cuz we’ve already been talking to this other guy to be our new lead singer.” And then Scott was all, “Screw you guys, btw you should hire Sebastian Bach.” And Slash was all, “Pfft, whatever.” Well, I’m guessing that Scott actually called it because all of a sudden Velvet Revolver has stooped to setting up a website and putting out the call to fans to submit entries because the guy they had in mind apparently fell through. Slash says, "The band is actually talking about actually building a website (and) doing some auditions via that. We're at that point of just listening to different things... It's one of those kind of situations where you can't really explain it to anybody because you'll know it when you hear it." Kinda makes you wonder when they go from a guy who’s all but in the band to trolling the internet for singers after Scott suggests a name. Of course, it’s just as likely that it’s some sort of promotional stunt like Limp Bizkit pulled after Wes Borland left where they toured the country trying out guitarists and in the end hired some dude they had in mind all along. But at least that gave a couple of dudes from Portland the opportunity to pelt Fred Durst with pies.

For those of you who heard Metallica cover the Garbage tune “Only Happy When It Rains” at the Bridge School benefit you probably heard the rumor that the band was planning on recording a new version “Fade to Black” with Amy Lee of Evanescence and thought to yourself, “Yeah, that’s what the Metallica concert crowd needed: a crap-load of weepy goth girls.” Well, I have good news. It ain’t gonna happen, or at least that’s what Amy says. A rumor circulating the net had Metallica re-recording “Fade to Black” and recording a new song called "Last Life" with Amy Lee, but she just shot down both.

She wrote on her blog, "I am NOT going to be collaborating with METALICA. I have absolutely no idea where this rumor came from, but it is not true."
